ADDITIONAL RELEASE INFORMATION NCR
With our last release (Soldiers Multilanguage) we brought you an
image being 98,5% like the original game CD.
But still some people reported that it didn't work for 'em so
here are some additional informations regarding the Soldiers
release that may help these people.
The first thing you should do prior burning CD1 to play is up-
grading your burner's firmware to the most current version.
That normally increases reading/writing compatibility and solves
problems with some specific media types.
The original .nfo said that you have to burn the CD1 using 1x
speed which mostly isn't practically possible with current CD-
DVD-recorders.
It is necessary to burn the CD1 with the lowest speed your re-
corder supports, if you set the burning speed to 1x CloneCD will
use the slowest possible burning speed depending on your burner
which normally is 4x and it shouldn't be more.
NOTE: If you have both, a CDRW and a DVDRW the CDRW device nor-
mally is able to burn slower than the DVDRW one!
In addition to that some CloneCD versions don't show the full
set of possible burning options, cause of that we included a CCD
profile in this package named ncry-sldc1.ccp.
Please place this file inside your CloneCD/Profiles Folder,
startup CloneCD and select the ncry-sldc1 profile.
After that set the burning speed to 1x and insert a high quality
raw CDR (e.g. Sony 700mb Supremas, other notsocheap ones should
work, too).
ATTENTION: Do NOT use a burning device with the burned CD1, to
play the game. The CD won't work with it because the burner'd
read out the missing 1,5% of DPM data.
As told before you should upgrade the firmware of your burner to
the newest version, these firmware files and installation
instructions are available at the website of your device-
manufacturer.
We have burnt the CD1 successfully using the following devices
and CloneCD version 4.3.3.1 (new version):
- LITE-ON LTR-48246S CD-RW firmware: SS0E
- LG GSA-4040B DVDRW firmware: 3.03
- Pioneer DVR-105 DVDRW firmware: newest
Using Sony 700mb Supremas raw CDR media and these readers to play
the game:
- Sony CDU611 CDROM
- Toshiba SD-M1502 DVDROM
- Toshiba XM-6102B CDROM
- LITE-ON LTD-165H DVDROM
We hoped that this additional informations helped the people who
couldn't get our release to work properly.
PLEASE REMEMBER:
We wouldn't have released this game without accurate checking
and verifying that it works following our detailed notes.
You may have noticed that our .nfos are pretty filled up with
much texts - It'd be not worth the work to write such big notes
having a not working release.
Ride on, cheers,
The NCR STAFF

working CDR media and/or reader/writer types to the email
