PLOT
Henry Brilliant is a young private eye who, to be
blunt, is inept. He just can't seem to do anything
right. His cases range from tracking down pink poodles
to finding lost patio furniture. One day he is called to
a mansion for what appears to be breathtaking job. Ms.
Delahunt wants Henry to accompany and protect her
stepdaughter Marigold. Marigold, beautiful and self
assured, wants nothing to do with him, but has no choice.
They go off to Europe with a group of Marigold's
student friends. She does everything in her power to
make his job impossible. She attracts men like a magnet
and goes without telling Henry, leaving him baffled and
bewildered.
Eventually Henry's caring wears her down and she
begins to like him. Her father, it turns out, is a
famous scientist who has learned how to control the
weather. Her stepmother is behind the kidnapping plot to
seize Marigold and hold her hostage for her father's
secrets. Henry, almost unwittingly, manages to foil the
evil plan in a series of chases and adventures which are
suspenseful and amusing. Marigold is saved and she and
Henry are deep friends, both of whom have grown from
knowing each other and they prepare for the next big
step.
RIP NOTES
Chris Lemmon (son of Jack Lemmon) stars in this P.I.
pastiche, together with Jean Simmons, Lea Thompson,
Viveca Lindfors, Nancy Cartwright (aka Bart Simpson),
and a whole bunch of Danes. You can tell which direction
British writer/director James Kenelm Clarke wanted to
take this in, but in the end it doesn't quite work,
which possibly contributed to it getting shelved for
four years before seeing release under its original
title of Yellow Pages in Europe, and Going Undercover in
the US. Arguably the most interesting element about this
is the number of scenes shot in Denmark, with a climax
in Copenhagen's historical Tivoli Gardens. However did
they find the money?
A DVD release of this was planned back in 2008, but
got cancelled before it ever hit the streets. So we
bring you what is still the best available version, from
everyone's favorite format.
Enjoy!
WHO WE ARE
Since 2003, FLAiR has been dedicated to preserving
the neglected titles of an entertainment era long gone.
A time of classic kids flicks, painstaking hand-drawn
animation and countless cheesy low-budget horrors. A
time when pop had a King, and rock had a Queen. A time
when special FX wizards ruled, and CGI was just one of
their many tools.
Driven by nostalgia and memories of better days, we
seek to relive those times, and share those memories.
While our belief is that the 80s represent the very
pinnacle of pop culture, we will not limit ourselves
to one decade, or any single genre. We will not ignore
the movies considered insignificant or even embarrassing
by the studios. We will not disregard a timepiece just
because it is dated.
Whereas most groups rely solely on digital sources,
there are still thousands of rare and out of print
titles, many of which have no planned digital release.
We've made it our mission to dig these out, clean them
up using the best hardware and techniques available to
us, and share them with the world. Be it VHS, Laserdisc
or more exotic formats, we're here to bring you the best
(and worst!) of decades past. So sit back and enjoy as
we uncover and pay tribute to an age of cinema we will
never get back.
THANKS
To everyone that has supported us over the years and
managed to keep this fun!
