It was brought to our attention that a notice was released
yesterday that included data that originates from a breach
we had back in 2009. Let us stress that the data did not
contain any IP of the people or sites mentioned but we'll
also be the first to apologize that the breach and leak
happened.
The data covers mostly sites that have since gone perm down,
and members that have retired - though it's still a bad day
for us - and while we would indeed like to go on, we see no
way that we can continue after this. Not only does this
force us to shut down the group, but it also forces us to
retire. But we guess that's what the 0DAY community wanted
after all.
When did the scene forget what is important? Will there even
be a scene when we allow this to continue? Why target groups
that are actually striving to enforce secure interaction?
If you had taken the time to actually read up on our history
you would of seen that while we've been kind enough to give
rookies and new site operators a chance - we've also been
quick to fix the issues when it's been brought up that for
instance a site was bad.
It hasn't always played out for the better, but at least we
dared to give others the possibility to learn and adapt.
Several of our competitors have reaped the benefits of that,
and now house the same individuals that they themselves would
not give a chance.
The scene is killing itself, and while you idly stand and
look at it all fade away, we at least attempted to do
something about it. It didn't work, and we got a lot of
anger aimed at us for trying to bring some new life and
activity - now we're exiting the door, and shutting it down.
Perhaps the scene will be a better place without us - that
is a tale for you to tell. You got what you wanted.
Our deepest apology goes out to the sites that was mentioned,
most specifically our old and respected spicy headquarter.
We've shared a long and fun road, and we're sad that this is
how it ends.
It's sad that the scene has come to this - instead of actually
talking to us - it's become the norm to go out and ruin the
work and time that people have devoted to this for years.
We're not saying we've been perfect, but we've tried to be a
fun competitor and a fresh breeze in what we considered an old
and steady scene.
There are many people to thank - first and foremost all of our
current and past members. The work you've put down and what
you've accomplished in the name of the group is astonishing.
We could never have made it this far without you. Second we'd
like to thank all the sites that hosted us, it would be wrong
to keep on after such an incident.
Last, we'd like to thank all of our great competing groups.
It's been a fun ride. We haven't always seen eye-to-eye on
matters; but still it's been a great journey. We'll surely
miss this, but it's for the better for everyone that we now -
after 14 years - call it a night.
We'll finish one last project, then we'll wander off into
oblivion. The names Lz0 and Lz0PDA will then be put to rest
and we hereby state that no one will ever get permission
to reform and restart these groups. After that last project
is done - so is the names.
Several of us will also use this opportunity to end our
scene-careers. It's been a long and fun road, but now there's
no joy anymore. As this wasn't just directed to the group,
but also exposed individuals we thus feel that our time is up.
You probably won't miss us, but we'll surely miss this.
To all of our friends; we're sad that this is how it goes -
but this is the end, we've had enough. It's time to step down
and let others take up the pace.
