DivX ;-) Repair Guide - http://www.geocities.com/divx_repair
EPiC's release of episode 08 was only 12 minutes long, hence missing
almost half of the episode. Incredible how they could not notice that
since the size was also 100 mb less than the other episodes.
This is the last episode you will see by AEN. We have no desire to
put any further effort in ripping only to be beaten by this kind of
releases. Not only do they show a clear lack of quality control but
also of scruples and effort. It only requires a quick look at their
NFO's to see this.
Firstly their rips are oversized for no reason, 3ep/cd instead of
the 4ep/cd we were using, meaning you only get about 66 min/cd.
Even at this size you will not get perfect quality rips since divx
is just not very well suited for this kind of animation. If size does
not matter (but we all know it does:) I suggest you get the SVCD rips.
Secondly, even if we wanted to race other episodes they practically
force us using the 3ep/cd size. Otherwhise people will be stuck with
inconsistent sizes and undersized cds. Oversizing seems to be new
trend in TVRips, but one AEN refuses to follow as the intention of
DivX is getting the best quality/size ratio.
For some reason they also try to pass this DVD of as PRE while it
can be bought in any BENELUX (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg)
store since June 19th.
Don't expect any subtitles from them either even though the DVD
contains four languages, they take 5 minutes to make and a high
percentage of people enjoy them. Lets hope they noticed that several
episodes, even though they are progressive for the most part, still
contain interlaced scenes now and then.
Why do we release this proper in this 4ep/cd size you might ask? To
quote an EPiC member: "to annoy you".
Have fun wasting CDs and bandwidth!
