Not sure why Dimension's is 4.7gb but that's a bit much for a 42 minute TV show. That's even higher then retail bluray which would have DTS Master HD audio at 1509 bitrate vs a standard 5.1 at 384kbps. We've noticed a couple other Dimension pre's that were quite large compared to our encodes of the same episodes with the same settings. The last 3 Mad Men episodes were approximately 3gb each as well as some past episodes of The 100 which were over 2gb as well. We can't be sure of the source they are using but there seems to be alot of grain and fine detail similar to what one might expect from a Bluray disc. We'd source proof request nuke if we felt they would provide a sample and also that rule was meant for low quality sources. The level of detail and grain present on their rips is not a fault of their encode or the source. If anything it's "TOO GOOD". The CRF rules were meant to allow for maximum quality at reasonable size but like The Walking Dead which due to grain ended up overblown size wise sometimes at 2.5gb per episode there comes a time when a reasonable size is expected. 4.7gb for 42 minutes of video is a bit on the extreme side. We encoded ours from the actual CW network at a source bitrate of 14mbps and matched settings 18/Slower to the Dimension encode. Ours came out a more reasonable 1.8gb which makes sense given the content of this particular episode which features many expolosions and dark detailed space scenes. Here's a much more reasonably sized rip. If any nuker wants to see if they'll release a sample go nuts. We're guessing no one has the balls to do so since the nuke scene seems more concerned with how to number John Oliver's new show and if a dirfix has the release name it's fixing included or not. Sorry for the rambling.
