Also ich habe Windows 8 für alle Systeme hier gekauft. Bin auch wirklich zufrieden damit, sicher war die Metro oberfläche am anfang schon gewöhnungbedürftig. Aber wie schon nenn vorredner sagte, man muss ja nicht alles nutzen, so hab ich mir wirklich nur das eingerichtet was ich effektiv auch haben will. Ich seh das eher nur als "Welcome-Screen" un denn seh ich eh höchstens 1-2 Minuten, wenn überhaupt.
Ich hab auch kein Startbutton hinzugemodded, warum auch ? Das einzigste wofür ich in Windows 7 den Startbutton benutzt habe war, um direkt Buchstaben einzugeben die das Programm für mich finden, das ganze macht Win8 auch nur deutlich schneller. Für mich hat sich der Umstieg definitiv gelohnt, zumal es wirklich weniger ressourcen braucht, bzw. viel schneller bootet.

Und was ich nicht verstehe warum ihr alle das schließen der Apps bemängelt?
Die Apps sind für Tablets Konzepiert, schließt ihr auf dem Handy oder Tablet auch jedes App nach der Benutzung?
Auch Windows friert Apps im Hintergrund ein. Somit verbrauchen sie keine CPU last. (oder fast keine). Nur Speicherplatzt im RAM nehmen sie ein. Davon haben wir alle genug für wenig Geld. Ebenso würden die Programme automatisch geschlossen werden wenn nicht mehr genug RAM zur verfügung steht. (Genau die selbe Geschichte wie auf euren Handys)
Einfach nur eine kleine Umgewöhnung. (Für Systemadministratoren eine etwas größere Umgewöhnung).
Und da bald Spiele rauskommen die nur unter Win 8 laufen, haben viele keine wahl.
Auch sobald Festplatten und RAM speicher größer werden müssen die Leute wechseln. Um UEFI voll auszunutzen.
Wer? Microsoft? Die spiele Entwickler?

XP ist inzwischen allerdings auch ein wenig älter als Windows 7, aber gut...
Aber fakt ist das man "gezwungen" wird Win 8 zu haben, wenn man die neusten Spiele voll ausnutzen möchte. (direkt X)
Und viele User kaufen sich Rechner NUR zum spielen.
Das kurbelt eher den Verkauf von Win8 an, anstatt zu einem Minus zu führen.
Diese Verkaufstaktik halte ich keineswegs für gut, jedoch kommen wir da nicht drum rum.
Den Spieleentwicklern wird es auch nicht schaden, da viele Leute sich für ein Spiel neue Hardware kaufen. (Mehrere Hundert Euro ausgeben)
Diese werden bestimmt nicht auf das Spiel verzichten weil ihnen das Betriebssystem nicht gefällt.
Zumal ist das am meisten kritisierte an Win8 die Metro-Oberfläche, die man ja auch entfernen kann.
Stellt euch mal Win7 mit der Metro-Obefläche als Programm vor.

Das ist doch immer vom Nutzer abhängig. Wenn es Windows sein muss: 7 oder 8. Bei einem älteren PC (Pentium 4, lol) oder wenn er bereits XP oder Vista legal besitzt und keine neuen Ausgaben machen möchte, kann er natürlich zu dem greifen, aber egal bei welchem Windows: _generell_ keine Updates zu installieren ist nicht empfehlenswert.
Die Verwendung von AV-Software und Software-Firewalls ist auch vom jeweiligen Nutzer abhängig. Ich würde mir z.B. bei Windows 8 nichts derartiges installieren, aber außer SmartScreen nichts mitgeliefertes deaktivieren. Scheiß auf die 50 MiB weniger freier RAM und 1 MiB mehr Datendurchsatz. Wer darauf Wert legt, sollte eh das BS wechseln! :3

(für den Fall, dass du meinst, man solle bei XP bzw. Vista bleiben): Nein. Das halte ich für Blödsinn. Klar, viele Menschen/Firmen nutzen noch XP, trotzdem ist das OS schon lange nicht mehr auf dem Stand der Zeit und vieles läuft noch umständlicher als in Windows 7. Hier sollte man unbedingt wechseln, damit man nicht irgendwo den Anschluss verliert. Und so viel kostet Windows 7 dann auch nicht, wenn man seit X Jahren XP hat^^

Auch durch gebetsmühlenartige Wiederholungen liefert hier niemand Argumente, wieso es denn nun nicht empfehlenswert ist...

Zum einen damit Win8-Desktop Besitzer bei einem zukünftigen Smartphone-Kauf zu einem Windows-Phone greifen. Vorteile liegen auf der Hand => einheitliches OS und keine weitere Eingewöhnungszeit.
Zum anderen haben hier alle die älteren Mitmenschen ausser acht gelassen. Kann mir gut Vorstellen d.h. habe bereits in der Praxis gesehen, dass älteren Menschen der Umgang mit Win8 deutlich leichter fällt.
Habe mir nun auch Windows 8 64 bit Pro geholt (Microsoft DreamSpark ueber Uniangebote).
Einfach nur top, nach Installation von Start 8 und dem Entfernen der Metroapps/Services ueber Powershell/Dism laeuft alles wunderbar. Boot in < 8s mit SSD, saubere Menues, kaum Auslastung, wenig Speicherbedarf...
