Marty (Colin Farrell) ist ein gl ckloser Autor, der sich nichts sehnlicher w nscht, als sein Drehbuch "Seven Psychopaths" zu beenden. Sein Freund Billy (Sam Rockwell), ein arbeitsloser Schauspieler, der sich mit Hundediebstahl  ber Wasser h lt, will ihm unter allen Umst nden dabei helfen. Was Marty jedoch vor allem fehlt, ist Inspiration. Billys Diebeskumpan Hans (Christopher Walken) wiederum ist ein ehemals gewaltt tiger Mann, der nun zum Glauben gefunden hat. Das Duo hat unwissentlich einen gro en Fehler begangen und stahl vor kurzem den geliebten Hund des psychopathischen Gangsters Charlie (Woody Harrelson). Wenn dieser Wind von der Identit t der T ter bekommen sollte, w rde er sie t ten, ohne mit der Wimper zu zucken. Marty soll bald die notwendige Inspiration erhalten - die Frage ist nur, ob er und seine Freunde das auch  berleben...
