Release Notes
Used the 5.1 audio from the old USA BD as the UHD had some automated dehum performed throughout the
film. Used the commentary from the old USA BD as well as the UHD has a band filter and lacks the
Dolby Surround flag that the CC DVD from 2000 and old USA BD have. Corrected a small issue with the
English subtitles from the UHD where a line referring to the NYC L train (spoken during a production
of Serpico happening in the movie) is misspelled as the el train, replacing them with the correct
L train spelling. Incidentally, the new commentary subtitles have this line included and the name
of the train is properly spelled. The issue also exists on the old USA BD, so I presume CC carried
the subtitle over without checking all the lines. The Disney+ and UK subtitles from the PAL DVD have
it as L train, which in general is the formatting used for referring to the Chicago L train
rather than the L train between Manhattan and Brooklyn, so I went with how it is on the commentary
subs given that it s Serpico. The English SDH PGS subtitles from the UHD were tonemapped to 58%
white (#949494) as the default 74% brightness is too bright IMO. The two converted VobSubs were
tonemapped to match. Special thanks to TMT for providing the disc early.
