NOTES
Demuxed with latest DGDemux and w/ merge DV function. Scene refresh flag added to frame 0, as it was missing.
There s two type of monos for this title, one the original and then the altered one (remixed) with
new sound effects
and foleys added, which is not uncommon by MGM. This remix is on the PAL DVDs, the Studio Canal GER
Blu-ray and
Arrow GBR Blu-ray. For original mono, the Criterion, the NTSC DVD, the Warners Bros. USA Blu-ray and Carlotta Films
FRA Blu-ray had it, only though, except the NTSC DVD, all others have it filtered, so I ve decided
to give an option
for three tracks: The original mono unfiltered which was from said NTSC DVD and synced. The filtered mono was chosen
from the Criterion, it s similar to the other 2 blu-rays mentioned, but it doesn t have the apparent
two band pass on
frequencies that matter, it does sound slightly better and was kept. For the alternate remix, which had merits since
its fidelity sometimes matches the NTSC DVD, but other parts sounds slightly worse, and considering its new effects;
synced the arrow (without lion s roar at the end) because the PAL DVD was terrible and only the GER
Blu-ray had similar
audio, though in one part at 26 min approx, the GER has a significant worse patched part, so all in
all the arrow was the best.
Kept the commentary from Criterion as it was already in mono and had less roll-off than the others,
any of them are monos,
only the GER and DVD have dual mono with some stereoization.
All the PGS were tonemapped to 65%, as the Criterion was too bright still at 74%, additional subs were also synced.
Named chapters from the NTSC DVD as the Criterion had too much chapters in quotes and preferred the
NTSC ones, synced to I-frames of remux.
